The Shetland Sheepdog is a small, active, and agile herding dog standing between 13 and 16 in or 33 to 41 cm at the shoulder. They can weigh in on an average between 11 to 24 pounds or 5kg to 10.9 kg. Their life span usually averages about 12 to 18 years so, they are generally healthy dogs overall.
Their coat is long, harsh and straight, with a dense undercoat, and comes in black, blue merle, and sable, with white markings.
