Australian Shepherd Puppies For Sale Near Me

Incredibly sweet, loving, well-trained dog

Australian Shepherd Puppies for sale in Taylor, TX, USA. price: NAVery sweet lovable well-trained dog named Buddy with a small rehoming fee. Our best guess is that he is about eight or nine years old. We adopted him several years ago. From what we can tell he is a Australian Shepherd/Chow Chow mix. He weighs somewhere around 50 pounds and is completely up-to-date on shots and medications. He takes heartworm and flea/tick meds monthly from our vet. He is very well-mannered. He knows how to sit stay lie down shake walk well on a leash and commands for the following: "up" to get into the car "out" to leave a room "upstairs and downstairs " and "go to bed." He is honestly one of the most docile dogs I have ever had. He does not play fetch--we've tried for years-- though and used to be afraid of cars and brooms; we worked on that with him though and he now loves car rides. But his absolutely favorite past-time is just laying outside in the sun or under a shaded porch. And at least for us he generally stays by your side off the leash. We've done plenty of projects outside while he has sat on our porch or laid in the grass off the leash. Buddy is an extremely low-maintenance dog. He waits for you to eat before he eats is capable of being inside during a full work day and does not tear up objects. He will stand by the back door when he needs to go to the bathroom and in an emergency will bark to get your attention to let you know that he needs to go out. He will also walk over to you and whine if the doorbell rings or someone knocks. The most maintenance you will need to do is in terms of grooming. He only barks in the backyard sometimes at other dogs. He also loves laying quietly in the same room while you are working. He has also stayed with friends over the years while we have gone on vacations and adjusts very well to different environments. Great with other dogs too as long as they are older and less playful. He has also stayed with friends who have cats and has generally done well but may try to chase cats. Since he is older he does seem to be having some joint issues. We have been giving him salmon joint chews; when he does go on walks they are not very long. He would come with all the fixings--joint chews treats food ceramic dog bowls and a mat an outdoor dog bed an older indoor dog bed nail clippers dog shampoo brushes and an older leash. He is wonderful and protective with older kids. The only reason we are considering letting him to go a good home is because we have an infant at home who is crawling and trying to pet him; before the crawling phase they were the best of friends. Buddy would try to lick and come close to watch what we were doing. The petting has been gentle but it does seem to bother Buddy; he has growled without showing teeth and has barked sternly a few times. He always gets up and walks away. But after some careful thought we have made the tough decision to reach out and try to find a good home for him with kids who are at least a little older and understanding of how to handle an older dog. We want to find someone who will love Buddy as much as we have loved him. He deserves a kind understanding home where someone will give him lots of petting and attention. We would require a meet-and-greet first. Please reach out for details. Serious inquiries only.View Detail
