MAGGIE HAS A SHORT TIME LEFT IF NOBODY IS WILLING TO TAKE ON THE TASK OF LOVING THIS 2' YEAR OLD LAB/PITBULL FEMALE SOON, SHE COULD BE HEADING TO THE POUND WHERE THEY WILL DEEM HER AS A UNFIT PET.
BEING ONE OF FIVE PUPPIES BORN, MAGGIE WAS ADOPTED 1 1/2 YEARS AGO BY MY THEN 77' YEAR OLD MOTHER, WHO AT THE TIME FELT THAT SHE COULD HANDLE MAGGIE BECAUSE SHE WAS JUST A PUP AND, MAGGIE'S ORIGINAL PARENTS WERE UNWILLING AT THAT TIME TO DEALING WITH A NEW LITTER OF PUPPIES AND WAS CONSIDERING DOING AWAY WITH MAGGIE AND HER FOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN A Nearby RIVER.
SINCE MY MOTHER HAS A BIG HEART, SHE COULDN'T ALLOW THOSE PEOPLE TO JUST DO AWAY WITH THOSE PUPPIES. SO, MY MOTHER TOOK ON THE TASK OF FOSTERING ALL FIVE PUPPIES IN HER HOME ALONG WITH HER TWO OTHER SMALL DOGS SHE OWNED, AND SHE SET OUT TO FIND EACH PUPPY NEW LOVING PARENTS AND FOREVER HOME'S. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF WEEKS FOR MY MOM TO COMPLETE HER MISSION BUT, SHE DID IT! SHE HAD FOUND NEW PUPPY PARENTS FOR EACH PUP. EXCEPT FOR ONE, MAGGIE.
SO, OF COURSE, NEVER SECOND GUESSING HERSELF SHE TOOK MAGGIE IN AS NEW FAMILY MEMBER.
AS MENTIONED, AT THE TIME MY MOTHER WAS 77 YEARS OLD AND, SHE LIVED WITH HER PARTNER OF 30 YEARS AND THEIR TWO SMALL DOGS WHEN MAGGIE JOINED THE FAMILY.
WITHIN A YEAR OF THAT TIME, MY MOTHERS PARTNER BECAME ILL. WHICH HAD BECOME A NEW LEVEL OF CONCERN FOR MY MOTHER. HER STRESS LEVEL HAD REACHED ITS PEAK A HALF OF A YEAR LATER AND, THIS IS WHEN SHE HERSELF EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN HEART ATTACK.
BY THIS TIME MAGGIE WAS A YEAR OLD, AND SHE WAS GETTING BIGGER BY THE DAY AND, SINCE SHE HAD NOT RECEIVED THE PROPER TRAINING SKILLS SHE DESPERATELY NEEDED AT THAT AGE, SHE STARTED TO BECOME STRESSED HERSELF.
MAGGIE WAS NOT GETTING ANY OUTDOOR TIME NOR ANY BEHAVIORAL TRAINING THAT A YOUNG PUP NEEDED AND, BECAUSE OF THAT, MAGGIE BECAME OVERLY PROTECTIVE OF MY MOTHER AND WOULDN'T ALLOW ANYONE TO COME NEAR HER WITHOUT SHOWING AGGRESSION, ESPECIALLY TOWARDS ANY MEN.
UNFORTUNATELY MAGGIE'S BEHAVIOR CONTINUED TO WORSEN IN THE LAST 8 MONTHS.
ALSO, WITHIN THIS TIME, MY MOTHER'S LONG TIME PARTNER PASSED AWAY.
SO, MY BROTHER AND I ENCOURAGED OUR MOTHER TO MOVE CLOSER TO US NOW THAT SHE WAS ALONE. THIS IS WHEN WE BOTH DISCOVERED THAT MOM COULD NOT HANDLE MAGGIE ANYMORE. MAGGIE HAD BECOME UNCONTROLLABLE, AND SINCE SHE HAD NOT BEEN LEASH TRAINED, GOING ON WALKS WITH MAGGIE CAN BE STRESSFUL AND TAKE A LOT OF ENERGY, ALONG WITH BALANCE/COORDINATION AND LOTS AND LOTS OF PATIENCE.
MAGGIE NEEDS A NEW YOUNG LOVING FAMILY WHO HAS TIME TO TEACH HER HOW TO BE A CALM GIRL. SHE IS STILL YOUNG AND EXCITABLE LIKE ALL PUPPIES CAN BE, HOWEVER, SHE NEEDS THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE WHO WILL LOVINGLY SHOW MAGGIE SHE NO LONGER HAS TO BE HELD UP INDOORS OR IN A CREATE ALL THE TIME.
WE THOUGHT WE HAD FOUND THE RIGHT PERSON THIS LAST WEEKEND HOWEVER, WHEN HE CAME TO PICK MAGGIE UP, MAGGIE NIPPED AT HIS FACE AND WOULDN'T ALLOW HIM TO APPROACH HER. SO, SINCE THAT HAPPENED AND MY MOTHER CAN NOT HANDLE MAGGIE EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME IN THE YARD, WE HAVE TO CONSIDER THE ALTERNATIVE IF WE CAN'T FIND MAGGIE A NEW HOME. THE POUND! AND, IF THE POUND FINDS OUT THAT SHE NIPS AT PEOPLE, THEY WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PUT HER DOWN SINCE SHE WILL BE CONSIDERED UN-ADOPTABLE.
SO, PLEASE! IF YOU'RE THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE WHO CAN SHOW MAGGIE LOVE AND GIVE HER A SAFE FOREVER-HOME, SHE DESERVES, PLEASE EMAIL NOW SO YOU AND MAGGIE CAN MEET.
LIKE I SAID, IF WE CAN NOT FIND MAGGIE A NEW FOREVER HOME, WE WON'T HAVE ANY OTHER CHOICE BUT TO SURRENDER HER TO THE HUMANE/POUND THIS WEEKEND OF THE 11TH AND 12TH OF JUNE.
WE DON'T HAVE TIME TO WASTE ON NEGATIVE PEOPLE WHO FEEL THAT THEIR TWO CENTS IS WORTH THEIR BREATH TO LEAVE NEG COMMENTS, SO, FYI... SAVE YOUR BREATH.
KEEP IN MIND THAT MAGGIE WILL NEED A FIRM HAND, A LARGE YARD AND LOTS OF LOVE.
