Listing Description
I’ve received my turtle around the beginning of 2020. Unfortunately, recently I have failed to take care of my girl. Due to me being at college and at work I’ve been unable to properly take care of her. I don’t have the proper resources to take care of a turtle. She’s very sweet and very relaxed. I want better for her. She deserves better. I don’t want to just release her into the wild because that seems morally wrong. I want her to survive and thrive. Hopefully writing this will give her a chance at survival but not just survival.. I want to give her a chance at peace, comfort and happiness. She’s around the size of a small cantaloupe. I’m not sure of her exact measurements. I know I’ve failed as a reptile parent but I genuinely want the best for my girl. I know I can’t provide what she needs that’s why I’m writing this to hopefully find someone to genuinely take better care of her than I have. That’s why it’s priced “low” I’m not just doing this for money.

The turtle is a Red-eared slider turtle, known for their gentle nature and adaptability. She is very sweet and relaxed and deserves a loving home.
3. What size is the turtle?
She’s around the size of a small cantaloupe. While I’m not sure of her exact measurements, her size is suitable for someone looking to adopt a medium-sized turtle.
4. How much is the adoption fee?
The adoption fee is $20. I am pricing her low because I genuinely want her to find a loving home, not just for financial reasons.
5. Where is the turtle located?
She is currently located in Richmond, Virginia, United States. I hope to find a local home for her so the transition can be easier.
6. What kind of care does a Red-eared slider turtle need?
Red-eared sliders need a balanced diet, plenty of space to swim, basking areas, and proper water filtration. They require a warm environment and regular health checks to stay happy and healthy.
7. Can I adopt your turtle even if I’m a first-time turtle owner?
Absolutely! As long as you are willing to learn and provide proper care, I encourage first-time owners to adopt. I am happy to share tips and guidance on how to care for your new pet.
8. Why shouldn't I release a turtle into the wild?
Releasing a pet turtle into the wild can be detrimental to both the turtle and the ecosystem. Domesticated turtles may not survive in the wild due to lack of survival skills, and they can also introduce diseases to wild populations.
