Beautiful pigeon needs a good home
This gorgeous bird is an oriental frill black lace satinette pigeon. When I first got him I was told he was male (although Ive never had him sexed). His name is Cole and I've just never had the patience to tame him, he deserves someone who can put in that time. With new arrivals coming to my home this cute little guy needs a loving owner that will show him patience and care. He's around 4 years old and has plenty of life time left for a new home! Alfie and Pixie
Alfie and Pixie are a bonded pigeon pair. They are wonderful birds, though Pixie has a twisted leg that makes it harder for her to walk around. She can fly very well so she can follow her mate around, but needs help getting to her food and water. She might seem nervous if you go to pick her up, but becomes very relaxed and content once she’s secure in your hand and loves to be pet. She is a very sweet bird. Alfie is a bit more standoffish, but he as already become more tame than when we first got him so with patience he can become a very affectionate bird too. We just don’t have enough time to spend with him to get him more used to people. He will take treats from your hand and doesn’t mind being picked up for you to put a flyper on him. When he is in his nest box he is more confident and enjoys being pet. He will eventually relax when you’re holding him and with time could come to enjoy being held and pet just like pixie. They each get two scoops of seed per day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, just make sure to put Pixie’s bowl right in front of her so she can reach it and put water in front of her sometimes too to make sure she drinks. We have pigeon diapers for them that you can take, so you can let them free roam the house if you want, they love this. We also have plenty of little houses for them which are included. Please note that they are domestic and Pixie has an injury, neither of them have any idea how to live in the wild and would not survive in the wild—they can’t be used for racing which is highly dangerous even for better prepared birds and they can’t be released. If you wanted to breed them you could get very tame hand-raised pigeons from them, or you can just replace their eggs with fake eggs. They are very sweet birds and with patience could become wonderful companions! Pixie just needs more care than a typical pigeon because of her injury, though overall they’re not too high maintenance and unlike parrots they are very calm and quiet.View Detail
