Adorable 2 year old chinchilla in El Dorado County that allows you to pet him and hold him if you catch him. He is super soft and cute. He does spit, but doesn't bite unless very startled or pulled on because he gets scared. I learned how to catch him gently or mid jump. He tries to jump away and my son can't really hold him. He also gets hot if you hold him more than a few minutes. He comes up to you for treats. Not the best fit for our family. Needs to be retained with tall fences best without holes during exercise time. He can be tricky to contain in an exercise pen. It's great if he has a small room to play with no crevices. Just watch him for chewing baseboards and such. Keep it clear. Free large cage in okay condition. He has a fun wheel and ledges in there. He poops every where but does not smell. He is funny. Loves dust baths. My son is also very noisy around him and he doesn't care for too much noise. My son is disabled and a lot of time goes to caring for him and less for our animals. I may also have an allergy to him or the rabbit. The chinchilla's name is Chinchi. He likes to be alone. I tried to get him a friend, and he just wanted to fight. He chases our cat and bites her, but likes our rabbit and lets the bunny lick him. Sometimes he jumps on the rabbit's back and seems a little rough but pretty good with the rabbit. I don't think it would be good for him to be around dogs or other cats because they might try to attack him.
