Listing Description
Jax was thought to be Jack until she laid an egg! Great bird has potential to be trainable. Needs more person bird time. Is a grumpus now, but with patience and time she will be able to go wherever you go. Grocery shopping or a walk. Comes with all of her things to make her happy. Cage, seed skirt, warm cage cover, perch’s, hammock, toys, food, feeding and watering bowls. We do not know how old she is since we took her in when her owners who found her abandoned at a construction site years ago got a dog that did not like birds. We guess she’s 6 to 8 yrs old. We have a daughter, 2 grand children their two dogs and a cat + our 3 dogs moving in soon and feel she will have less time with people than she has now. We’d like for her to go to a bird experienced home. Maybe with another conure for company. Until she is resocialized we do not recommend children handle her. It shouldn’t take much to do this. Wings, feet and beak just tended to. She has cuddled and nibbled gently in the recent past.
Frequently Asked Questions about Petzlover Listings
What type of bird is Jax?
Jax is a Sun Conure who has the potential to be a trainable and affectionate pet.
What is Jax's personality like?
Jax is currently a bit of a grumpus but with patience and time, she can become more social and enjoy activities with her owner, such as shopping and walks.
What items come with Jax?
Jax comes with a cage, seed skirt, warm cage cover, perches, hammock, toys, and feeding and watering bowls to ensure she is happy and comfortable.
What is Jax's age?
We estimate Jax to be between 6 to 8 years old, as she was taken in from a situation where her previous owners could not care for her after adopting a dog that was not friendly with birds.
Is Jax good with children?
We do not recommend that Jax be handled by children until she is resocialized. She may do better in a home with experience with birds, possibly including another conure for companionship.
What kind of environment does Jax need?
Jax would thrive in a home where she can receive ample attention from her owners, especially as we are moving to a household with multiple pets and children, which may limit her time with people.
How has Jax been cared for?
Jax has received basic care, including tending to her wings, feet, and beak. She has shown affection by cuddling and gently nibbling in the past.
