My beautiful, loving and intelligent Green Cheek Conure needs to be rehomed unfortunately! If I had a choice I wouldn’t be but I’m moving and there’s a no pet policy. I bought her from Petco in Mansfield, MA almost exactly 2yrs ago to the day. She turned 2yrs old this past April. When I bought her I went all out and pretty much bought everything they have for birds at Petco lol I spent well over $1,000 that’s including the cost for her, 2 cages, food, toys, bedding etc…She’s funny and definitely loves attention, if she could just chill on your shoulder all day she would be in heaven! She loves bathtime and don’t forget that after bathtime she gets her cookie or trust me she’ll remind you lol If your a guy your going to want to probably retrain her with how I call her to fly to me because I say “Come to mommy”. Lol then she’ll fly and land on my shoulders. She’s very verbal in both bird sounds and she does say a couple words but unfortunately for the past few months I haven’t been able to give her the attention she deserves and I feel bad! I mean don’t get me wrong she’s always been spoiled and still is it’s just the lack of attention I can provide her. So if your looking for a new best friend that wants to chill with you as much as you’ll let her look no further she’s right here! Her name is Birdy yeah I know it’s weird but we just could never agree on a name so that’s why we kept calling her Birdy but I’m sure you could absolutely change her name and she’d be fine. Also I’ve never gotten the blood test to really find out if she’s a boy or a girl we’ve just always assumed she was a girl lol so she could very well be a boy idk? I have 2 big cages, tons of toys, food, you name it she’s got it and all of that will go with her. Oh yeah when I bought her 2yrs ago her flight feathers we’re cut but I let them grow back and she’s been free rain since. She has the bracelet around her ankle area if she ever gets out it’s her ID info from Petco so I’m sure you’d probably wanna go there just to find out if you can update the contact info because I’m assuming it has my contact info. This is how a typical day for her goes …… I take her blankets off her cage let her chill in there for about a half to an hour so she’ll eat and drink then I open the cage and she’s off she chills wherever she’s in the mood to chill or she’ll land on my shoulders if I’m home and I’ll be her taxi for a while, she’s very good about going to the bathroom, she’ll fly back to her cage and go don’t get me wrong once in a while she has an accident but she’s a bird so that’s bound to happen right! She usually gets a bath every other day, I give it to her in my kitchen sink, I fill-up the sink she jumps in there a couple time’s then I have the water just lightly trickling out and I put it to the corner and she takes a shower that’s her favorite part because be prepared to get wet with her lol every time she goes under the stream of water she’ll fly onto my shoulder or should I say she’ll slap onto my shoulder because she’s soaked hahaha then if I’m home I’ll put her in her cage in the afternoon for an hour or so for a little break and she’ll rest and eat some food. Other then that she just chills during the day and her nighttime routine I usually put her to bed between 10-10:30pm I always put blankets over her cage so she knows it’s time for bed.
