AKC Working Great Pyrenees - Brown collar male
Brown is an all white boy. He weighed over 10lbs at 6 weeks old and over 18lbs at 8 weeks old. He seeks me and my 2 year old son out for pets and plays well with his litter-mates. He has an independent personality but loves attention from those he is familiar with. He would be well suited for farm life where he was expected to have a job to do. He would be suited for livestock guarding work either alone or with another dog. He would also be suited as a general farm dog. Given his independence he is likely to be protective of his home and family and will make decisions of who/what is welcome. If he is expected to be friendly with strangers like delivery personnel or extended family then he needs to be socialized to many people, animals, and places from a young age. He is likely to make decisions on his own so it is important to help him make good decisions as an adult dog. If he is to be a working LGD living outside with his livestock full-time then he will make a great guardian once he matures as long as he is guided properly by his owner. If expected to be an inside companion he would need exposure to different people, animals, and places so he does not become fearful of them and guard his house against anyone who isn\'t family.\r\n\r\nOur puppies have been exposed to poultry from birth and their parents are working guardians on our farm protecting poultry, goats, and pigs. AKC Working Great Pyrenees - Pink collar female
Pink (new collar Light Blue) is white with cream colored ears, forehead, and top of head. She weighed a bit over 10lbs at 6 weeks old and just under 18lbs at 8 weeks old. She likes to hold back and wait for her litter-mates to investigate before she comes forward. She is a bit shy but really wants attention and will wag her tail while she contemplates letting you pet her. The older she gets the more confidence she gets. She would be a nice mild mannered LGD especially with another LGD to learn from. She would pair well with another dog who is more dominant since she tends to be submissive and go with the flow. She would be well suited for farm life especially with lots of socializing to build her confidence in different people and animals. She would likely make a good companion dog too living life as a couch potato. She would need exposure to different people and places if she is to be a house dog so she does not become fearful of them and guard her house against anyone who isn\'t family.\r\n\r\nOur puppies have been exposed to poultry from birth and their parents are working guardians on our farm protecting poultry, goats, and pigs. 2, 1 Year Old Great Pyrenees Male and Female
These 2 polar bear creatures in the dog form are Brutus & Portia. They are 1 year old Great Pyranese. Thier story is attached and to say it has been a sad one is an understatement. Brutus is the bigger of the 2, and Portia is the smaller of the 2. Please read all.
Thier story:
Brutus & Portia ended up in my care after some sad unfortunate circumstances. Thier owner called me and begged me to come get them and her other animals from where she had previously had the boarded after she had received a call from the land owner, the sheriff's department, and animal control. She had told me a story that had me horrified. There were at one time 4 dogs. One of the dogs had passed away after her failing to feed them on a daily basis. She lived 2.5 hours away and was going through a divorce and supposedly had someone feeding them but nobody showed up unless it was my boyfriend and I. We had gone to Monrovia to feed them a couple of times when she had asked. The dog that had passed was being eaten by the others because they had been starved. Once I got that call I spoke to my boyfriend and we were off to get them, a cow, and 3 horses. She gave temporary control of the dogs at that time. We brought them back to my place under the agreement that it would only be 3 months for all animals. At first surrendered 1 dog which I was easily able to rehome, and then the cow. Before the end of the 3 months she surrendered the remaining animals. These 2 have been through hell and back.
They are bonded and will go together with no exceptions. If it wasn't for the facts that one 1. I rescue horses, 2. I wasn't injured, 3. I wasn't at my max capacity of animals these 2, they would stay.
- They are kid friendly.
- Brutus is very forward, Portia is very shy and needs the most love. The more you love on her the more she warms up to you
- They've been raised around pigs, chickens, horses, and a cow.
- Portia needs a little work to be house trained, Brutus let's you know when he needs to go out.
- A fenced area is a must. Brutus tends to go visit and Portia is a runner but stays close to home. So that is an absolute must have.
- They are both super sweet and do fine with other dogs.
- Big cuddly teddy bears
- They do need fixed. No litters yet thankfully.
- They shed A LOT!
- They prefer outdoor life to indoors but do fine on either. They are bred to be livestock guardian dogs.
- The previous owner has refused to provide any information on shots or veterinary record.
- A forever, knowledgeable home is a must.
- If there were papers the previous owner did not and will not tell me if there were any.
- A requirement for their adoption, is that upon adoption they are to be neutered and spayed.
- Brutus is fine with cats, Portia I'm not sure
I have fallen on hard times or they would've seen a vet. They deserve more time and attention. Both have never shown aggression and are sweet. If you're interested in these cuddly imposter polar bears please contact me. There is a rehoming fee. Before they leave they will be bathed, nails trimmed, and brushed. Located in Solsberry.View Detail
