Female, banded, 7yrs, super tame, Talks, laid 2 eggs this year (without a mate around), She is a fairly quiet Cockatoo (all will make some noise, especially in the morning & evening for a few minutes), Her name is Whispers. I can do anything with this bird including filing her toe nails, she is learning to play peek-a-boo & already does “big birdâ€. She will NEVER potty on you, in fact, I have to remember to put her down for a bit so she will go. She is always in perfect feather! She will follow you around the house if she has an opportunity to climb off of her cage or a stand with anything other than a single pole that she cannot reach to climb on. In my house, she will not allow others to pet her, but she will allow anyone to hold & pet her when I take her out (my house IS her cage, I guess). She was temporarily with 2 other people for a short while & at their homes she was the same way with them as she is with me, so once she is away from me, she will be the same with you.View Detail
Female Moluccan Cockatoo
6 year old Female Moluccan cockatoo. She is very gentle, funny, loving and full of personality. She loves females but I don’t think she cares much for men. She doesn’t like my husband but that may be because he wears glasses and a most of the time a cap. It’s kind of a love/hate thing. He can’t pet her but she has a fit when he leaves the room. It may well be because she is so attached to me. She would be perfect in a home of mostly females.
I think she would do well with other cockatoos because she has in the past. She is seldom in her cage and is out each evening when we watch TV. She does have an outdoor flight for the daytime in the summer so she does like that as well. She has a good appetite and has perfect plumage.
I won’t re-home her to anyone that does not have experience with large parrots…mostly cockatoos. They are loud at times and they need LOTS of attention. Think of her before you commit.
