Listing Description
Aeko came to us as a curious little stray at just 4–5 months old, and he’s now 1 year and 9 months. He’s incredibly intelligent and has shown amazing progress with consistent training. While he can be sensitive to certain sounds or scents, he responds very well to structure, routine, and positive reinforcement.
Aeko currently does three 30-minute training sessions per day, which include treat-based rewards for calm behavior, redirection before he becomes overstimulated, and gentle desensitization to triggers. With this approach, he has improved tremendously. He truly thrives when he knows what to expect and has someone patient and steady guiding him.
He would do best in a dog-free home, but he shows a lot of interest in other cats and may enjoy a feline sibling after proper introductions. Though he isn’t a cuddler, he has a unique personality and a desire to connect in his own way.
Aeko is searching for a dedicated, understanding adopter who sees his potential. With the right environment, consistency, and compassion, he can flourish and continue his incredible progress. If you’re someone who enjoys working with a smart, special cat, Aeko could be the perfect fit.

Temperament
:Aeko is highly intelligent but easily overstimulated. Certain sounds or scents can trigger reactive or aggressive episodes. He does not do well with dogs and has had unpredictable attacks toward them. He may have underlying neurological sensitivities that affect his behavior. He isn’t cuddly or highly affectionate, but he responds very well to structure and routine. Consistent training—three 30-minute sessions daily with treats, redirection, and desensitization—helps him significantly. He may enjoy living with another cat after careful introductions. Aeko needs a patient, dedicated owner who can maintain a calm, structured environment.

Reason For Rehoming
:Aeko has begun having unpredictable attacks on our dog, who has lived with us long before Aeko arrived. Although they started out well together, Aeko became increasingly reactive toward him, creating a safety concern. We also believe Aeko may have some neurological sensitivities, as he can become overstimulated by certain scents or sounds. Combined with the level of structure and time he requires, we feel he would do better in an environment tailored to his needs.
