This hybrid dog’s appearance is similar to a Labrador with a sleek, lean body, short haired coat, floppy ears and long short haired tail. \r\n\r\nIs the German Sheprador the Right Breed for you?\r\nModerate Maintenance: Regular grooming is required to keep its fur in good shape.\r\nModerate Shedding: Routine brushing will help. Be prepared to vacuum often!\r\nEasy Training: The German Sheprador is known to listen to commands and obey its owner. Expect fewer repetitions when training this breed.\r\nGreat Watchdog Ability: This dog will bark and alert its owners when an intruder is present.\r\nVery Active: It will need daily exercise to maintain its shape. Committed and active owners will enjoy performing fitness activities with this breed.\r\nGood with Kids: This is a suitable breed for kids and is known to be playful, energetic, and affectionate around them. We occasionally have cats but not too many come in yard so don\'t know how they\'d be around them. Also not too many men but they\'ve been successfully adopted by men so they can adapt easily. They have monitored play to make sure they don\'t hurt each other but they are very gentle with the smaller pups. The Chihuahua is actually more aggressive in play. Their blonde Shepherd mom is best friends with a much smaller male Chihuahua named Osito (see pic). Will be going elsewhere this week if not sold because 9 wks old. Every cent of the sale is going towards these animals, medical care (deworming--I have vaccinations available from Fosters & Smith for $10 because people vary on whether they want holistic or standard vet care, in the former they don\'t vaccinate much), 24/7 monitoring, feces cleanup and check to make sure NO pests, grooming (can\'t wash until 3 mos old), food (dry, wet, low sodium chicken broth), water, etc. Shelters charge $400-800 for same animals because it\'s expensive to upkeep. All of them in foster homes and shelters need homes. We are NOT deliberately breeding pups to make money. This was a rescue Blonde German Shepherd bred by a Black Labrador Retriever who belonged to a neighbor. The pot belly pigs broke the gate and the black lab retriever got into a private fenced yard. We know the father and he\'s a beautiful dog too. We are just trying to pay expenses while finding them forever homes. The mom\'s ears are up but we didn\'t crop them or put in ear cuffs (many people don\'t know that Shepherds need them to make their ears stand up). The goldens appear to have more Shepherd ears than Lab ears. The pup\'s muscles have to be strong enough to push their ears up.\r\n\r\nCasey the Mom also loves the pot belly pigs and plays with them. Shepherds are herders and we think she\'s trying to herd them, mostly it consists of lots of doggy kisses which Maxi and Unky the pigs tolerate. They also like to play in water. Because they are Sheprador each one has different builds, facial shape, coloring, hair. They really varied in looks (see orig pic of them sleeping on me). Currently 9wks, need to have forever homes quickly starting at 8wks before they become too attached to me. Too many pups need homes if you watched Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet so to breed them on purpose isn\'t what we do. \r\n\r\nThey will be washed when older with organic shampoo if we still have them at 12 wks. NC does have fungus/mold problems so it keeps that off the animals\' dishes. The pups have a big acre fenced yard to play and dig in without outside animals getting in. Both breeds are diggers and we are working on a designated digging area.
