The St. John's Indian Dog is a recreation of the now extinct dog the St. John's Water Dog. A breed used by Canadian Natives to carry and pull heavy loads and swim out in the Atlantic Ocean/St. John's Bay, retrieving huge nets filled with fish back to shore.
The extinct breed was a combination of Native Canadian dog mixed with Newfoundland, another Canadian Native creation. This breed is in fact the foundation blood*** for the present day Labrador and Golden Retrievers.
The St. John's Indian Dog is a mixture of Native American Dog(NAID) and the Newfoundland.
They are non-droolers, shed only once annually, have no doggy odor and are Hypoallergenic like is the NAID.
