Listing Description
Hello everyone, i\'m not too sure if i\'m allowed to do this on here or not, but I do need help...\r\nThis is Pax, he is my one and half year old guinea pig. He is very shy but so love-able once he\'s comfortable and has such a unique personality. He definitely loves his treats, lettuce, and bonding time, in which i\'m unable to give to him now. I am a full time college student, along with working full time and do not have time to bond and play with him as much as l was able to do before.\r\nI am looking to rehome him to a kind and loving family who will make this little guy happy, make sure he stays healthy, but most importantly has time for him! The cage would be included, along with the water bottle, the toys, and a carrying cage that he will be in, when transporting. I am in the *** but I can meet in *** with him, if you want to save the travel.\r\nif you have any questions I am open to answer them !
Frequently Asked Questions about Guinea Pigs
1. What should I feed my guinea pig?
Guinea pigs primarily eat hay, fresh vegetables like lettuce, and high-quality pellets. Make sure to avoid iceberg lettuce and to provide plenty of fresh water daily.
2. How can I bond with my new guinea pig?
Bonding with your guinea pig takes time and patience. Start by spending time near their cage to let them get used to your presence, then gradually introduce handling sessions using treats they enjoy.
3. What size cage is appropriate for a guinea pig?
A minimum of 7.5 square feet is recommended for one guinea pig, but larger is always better to allow for exercise and exploration.
4. Can guinea pigs be kept alone?
While guinea pigs can survive alone, they are social creatures and thrive in pairs or small groups. Consider adopting more than one if you have the space and resources.
5. How often should I take my guinea pig out for exercise?
It’s recommended to allow your guinea pig out for exercise at least once a day for several hours in a safe, supervised area.
6. What kind of toys do guinea pigs enjoy?
Guinea pigs enjoy chew toys, tunnels, and interactive toys that stimulate their need to burrow and explore.
7. What are the signs that my guinea pig is happy?
Happy guinea pigs may chatter their teeth, purr, or even popcorn (jumping in excitement). They also show interest in their environment and enjoy social interactions.
8. Where can I find supplies for my guinea pig?
Most pet stores carry supplies for guinea pigs, including cages, food, and toys. Online retailers also offer a wide variety of products.
