This decision has not been an easy one. Due to an upcoming work commitment that will require extended time away, I am no longer able to give Smokey the daily attention, interaction, and consistency he truly deserves. African Grey parrots are highly intelligent and emotionally sensitive birds, and it would be unfair to leave him without the proper companionship he needs.
Rather than placing Smokey in a shelter or uncertain environment, I am committed to finding him a safe, loving, and permanent home where he will continue to thrive. He deserves stability, care, and a family that can enjoy and nurture his wonderful personality.
The rehoming fee is intentionally set much lower than what I originally paid. It is not about profit, but rather to help ensure that the person adopting Smokey is genuinely interested, prepared, and capable of providing long-term care. This helps protect Smokey from being passed around or placed in the wrong hands.
My only goal is to see Smokey placed in a home where he will be loved, respected, and treated as a lifelong companion.
